It has become very common for a guest to inquire, “Where can I find a place to eat in Door County that is Gluten Free?” A Google search revealed… that it is really hard to find a list of Gluten Free Restaurants in Door County. The available information was hard to find and dated in many cases.

I have researched and compiled a list of places to eat in Door County who state they have gluten free options. Some have a few salads… and some places have everything from pizza to pasta.

2014 List of Gluten Free Restaurants in Door County

Bistro Bar –

The Bistro Bar and Grille is located in Liberty Square in Egg Harbor. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available with fresh food prepared to order. Choices include gluten free salads, burgers, sandwiches and breakfast. The Bistro Bar also has vegetarian options like the Walnut Burger. Christine’s delicious vegetarian recipe combines cheese, walnuts, bread crumbs and spices. Consider adding caramelized onion, sautéed mushrooms, mixed greens, blackening spice, Swiss, cheddar, five cheese, or bacon.

Carrington –

The Carrington is located in Egg Harbor. The gluten free menu has numerous options including pizza and dessert. Try Malibu Apple Pork, a Grilled pork loin set atop Fuji apples lightly sautéed in Malibu Rum and rosemary. Served with a vegetable and your choice of baked potato or wild rice blend.

Danish Mill –

The Danish Mill is located on beautiful Washington Island at the tip of Wisconsin’s Door County Peninsula. The Danish Mill serves Udi’s Whole Grain Gluten Free Bread. In addition, all of their potato chips and potato salad are gluten free along with a daily offering of gluten free bars and cookies.

Gibraltar Grill –

The Gibraltar Grill is on Main Street in Fish Creek. They state, “We welcome advance notice of special dietary requests and will do our utmost to accommodate your needs.” Try the Whitefish Roma, a locally caught Door County whitefish broiled and topped with diced roma tomatoes, red onion, garlic, parmesan cheese and fresh basil finished with a balsamic reduction accompanied with the potato of the day and vegetables.

Harbor Fish Market –

Waterfront dining in Bailey’s Harbor. The gluten free menu includes a variety of seafood like salmon, lobster, snow crab, oysters and mussels. There is a New England Lobster Boil every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday! This unique venue also offers a “Doggy Menu” with a fun selection such as “Sterling’s Doggie Kibble”.

Inn at Cedar Crossing –

The Inn at Cedar Crossing is located in Historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay. The Pub offers the areas widest selection of beer from across Wisconsin, including New Glarus, Tyranena, Gray, Lakefront, Sand Creek, Sprecher, Capital, Hinterland, Leinenkugel, Point and O’so breweries. For breakfast, consider an egg white frittata with sweet peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and green onions.

Julie’s Park Café –

Julie’s Park Café in Fish Creek serves daily from 6:59 a.m. to 9:01 p.m. Gluten free lunch specials include sandwiches like coconut chicken salad prepared on gluten free toast or a bun. Get it with an Angry Orchard Hard Cider.

Mission Grille –

The Mission Grille is located in Sister Bay. Start your gluten free dining experience with a Wisconsin Artisan Cheese Flight. Try Wisconsin’s finest Artisan cheeses for this tasting treat.  Served with herb-toasted almonds, marinated olives and pear and honey quince. Have a unique gluten free entrée such as half a roasted Maple Leaf duck and Door County cherry-Bigarade Sauce, sweet potato mash and fresh vegetables.

The Cookery –

The Cookery is a family run restaurant in Fish Creek since 1977. The menu features American fare with a creative twist. Have a Turkey, cream cheese & cherry chutney sandwich on a gluten free bun for lunch. In the wine bar, try the smoked whitefish spread with cucumber slices.

White Gull Inn –

Traditional Fish Boils, Candlelight Dinners and a Gluten Free Menu are available at the White Gull Inn in Fish Creek. The lunch options include an Asian Chicken Salad with, mixed salad greens, grilled chicken strips, mandarin oranges, sliced red onion with Honey Lime, Lemon or Cider vinaigrette.

Wild Tomato Pizza –

The Wild Tomato in Fish Creek has numerous reviews on Trip Advisor speaking of their gluten free options. The menu includes gluten free pizza, sandwiches and pasta. One of their specialties is the The Green and Gold Pizza with Roasted chicken, bacon, grilled broccoli, spinach, and topped with REAL Wisconsin cheese curds. It comes with ranch dipping sauce.
